The Health Law attorneys of the Davis Brown Law Firm actively represent a wide variety of clients in matters specific to the health care industry ranging from compliance and regulatory issues to HIPAA/HITECH/EMR and health care litigation.
The firm’s health law attorneys’ areas of expertise include compliance, health care privacy and confidentiality, certificate of need, third-party payments, alternative health care delivery systems, licensing and accreditation, institutional review, medical ethics, policy and procedure development and implementation, physician contracts and compensation, and Medicare and Medicaid compliance. In the area of health care litigation, we represent clients on issues such as Qui tam and whistleblower defense, government and internal investigations, fraud and abuse, and patient rights.
The Davis Brown Law Firm has historically represented a large number of physicians, stand-alone clinics, rural providers and critical access hospitals throughout the state of Iowa. We also work with the Iowa Department of Public Health and represent numerous long-term care facilities, home health care agencies, nursing homes and assisted living facilities. In addition, our attorneys are active in representation before health care agencies, including the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals, the Office of Civil Rights and other health and human service entities.
As a full-service law firm, we provide our health care clients with general counsel on business matters, such as labor and employment law, compensation and benefits, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, antitrust, intellectual property, public finance and bonding and taxation.
Our attorneys work to stay current with developments in health law and health care reform. They frequently present on topics directly relevant to health care organizations and author a health care reform blog. The Health Law Department also offers an annual health law seminar for clients, as well as ongoing educational opportunities, on-site training and webinars.
