CONCENTRATION
Jessica is an associate of the Davis Brown Law Firm. She joined the Business Division in August 2011 in the area of lobbying and governmental relations.
ACADEMICS
In 2005, Jessica graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law where she also received a Certificate in Natural Resources and Environmental Law Program of Concentrated Study, with a particular focus on water law. During law school, she clerked for the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office and was a legal Intern for Nebraska Department of Natural Resources. She was chosen to compete in the 2004 National Animal Advocacy Moot Court Competition at Harvard.
As a CSU Honors Scholar, she earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Technical Journalism and Political Science from Colorado State University. In addition, she was elected Phi Beta Kappa.
OF NOTE
Before joining the Davis Brown Law Firm, Jessica was the Director of Governmental Affairs for the Iowa League of Cities, a position in which she acted as an advocate for over 900 Iowa cities, representing their interests before the General Assembly, the Executive Branch and other Iowa regulatory bodies and departments. Prior to serving as the director, she worked as Government Affairs Counsel for the League.
COMMUNITY
Jessica is a Board Member for the Iowa Chapter of Children's Advocacy Centers, and is active in the Junior League of Des Moines. She is a member of Art Noir and the Greater Des Moines Young Professionals Connection.
PERSONAL
Jessica grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, and currently resides in Des Moines with her husband Steve.
