Stan is a senior shareholder of the Davis Brown Law Firm. He is also the Chair of the Litigation Division. His practice includes Commercial Litigation, Construction Litigation, Insurance Defense and Antitrust Law.

REPRESENTATIVE ENGAGEMENTS
In 2007, Stan garnered a significant victory for MidWestOne Bank & Trust which was sued by a Fortune 500 firm represented by a national law firm based in Chicago. The suit involved multi-million dollar claims based on trade secret misappropriation, aiding and abetting and conspiracy. The two-week jury trial in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa culminated in a complete defense verdict for Thompson's client who was found not liable on any ground. He has represented Ag Processing, Inc., ConAgra, Inc., Graham Construction Company, Iowa State University Alumni Association, and Mississippi Medical Plaza LLC.

Stan recently spoke on antitrust law at over 65 businesses at the Iowa Limestone Producers Association’s annual meeting.

Stan completed two highly competitive campaigns that gained national recognition for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2002 and 2004.
COMMUNITY
Stan has served as chair of the board of directors for the Iowa State University Alumni Association. He is currently the vice-chair of the Small Business Advisory Council for the Iowa Department of Economic Development and a member on the Blue Ribbon Task Force for the Polk County Bar Association for courthouse improvement.

He resides in Clive with his wife, Nancy, and four children.
